You’ve heard me say time and time again that our country is in a battle for the soul of this nation. I’m running for president because, in the 21st Century, every American child should have the opportunity to succeed.

At so many of our events on the trail, I’m lucky enough to meet the children of our supporters. Every time I do, I think about how critical this election is to so many children’s futures.

What kind of America will this child grow up in? Will there be a strong middle class? Will families be able to access the affordable health care that they need? Will we have turned back the existential threat of climate change? Will gun violence continue to ravage our communities? Will our democracy remain intact?

These are the questions that we will answer in this election. I’m running for president to restore the soul of our nation and give every young American a future of opportunity.

But here’s the deal, folks, I’ve got a big fundraising deadline at midnight. It’s the final end-of-month deadline before we make the big decisions that affect the outcome of this race. And the folks at the office tell me that we’re now just 5,000 donations away from our goal.
