STATEMENT: Biden Administration Launches Clean School Bus Program 

The Biden administration officially launched the new Clean School Bus Program to begin electrifying America’s school bus fleet. The program provides a historic $5 billion in funding to help school districts transition to electric or alternative fuel buses. “The EPA’s Clean School Bus Program is an unprecedented and critical step in giving every child in the United States the opportunity to get to school without breathing in harmful exhaust,” said WRI’s Jennifer Rennicks. G7 Leadership Is Critical to Put the Brakes on Deforestation  

At the last UN climate summit, 141 countries committed to halt and reverse forest loss and land degradation by 2030. But Global Forest Watch data shows deforestation is still happening rapidly, threatening food security and climate goals.
