While my opponents are only talking about gun control, my committee is leading and taking action, focused on putting together a package of bills to stop our preventable epidemic of gun violence. Your support, especially the small donations, are what allows me to stay focused on what matters.
I am leading the markup process as Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee tomorrow on a number of gun control proposals in response to the tragedies we have seen in recent weeks right here in New York state and in Texas— and for far too long all across America . I expect to have these bills on the floor of the House next week for passage.
Throughout my career, I have always fought for stricter gun laws, and I have no intention of backing down. Many of my colleagues in Congress remain complicit with the trend of violence we see in this country, bought by special interests and the gun lobby. Frankly, I’m tired of it.
