Last week, I ripped a bong on my interview with the DCCC (the Dems' official campaign arm). I'm aiming to be this country's first female representative that is open about her cannabis habits.

We need to legalize cannabis, and we need to do it now. Too many families and communities are broken apart by outdated, authoritarian drug laws. Cannabis has so many positive medical and mental effects, and the majority of this country believes it should be fully legalized.

I guarantee you that many representatives use cannabis in their free time, and they are just not open about it. And yet, many of them vote against legalization. Let's change that!

Legalizing cannabis will allow people with medical conditions to get the care they need, backed up by breakthrough studies showing the positive effects of the drug. It will allow millions of Americans to live without fear. It will stop an oppressive push that forces many minority neighborhoods into conflict with the police. It will lower the amount of deaths we have every year to fentanyl and other dangers that come with the illegal drug trade.

There are more benefits to cannabis legalization than I can count on 420 hands. Let's get it done!
