John,
As we fight with everything we have to overcome corporate money and the status quo to bring essential change to TX-28, I think about all of the communities we are fighting for — communities left behind by current representation in Congress.
All across this country, there are congressional districts with shocking levels of inequality. Many corporate Democrats, who are currently representing these districts, are more than happy to treat Congress like an invite to an exclusive club while their constituents struggle.
That’s why I chose to run – and why Kina Collins in Illinois chose to run in the first place. We are tired of seeing our communities struggle while those in power line their own pockets and vote against our best interests. We are running to win because we will not sit quietly while our communities are left behind.
John, we are up against corporate interests bent on keeping the status quo. But our grassroots movement can win with you on our side. Will you split a contribution between Kina and our recount campaign right now?

Kina Collins’ district is one of the most unequal districts, just like TX-28. In the downtown Chicago portion of IL-07, the life expectancy is 90 years, while in the predominantly African American Englewood portion, life expectancy is 60. Same district, different world. Kina has been fighting this inequality for over a decade, but she’s seen, just as I have, that we desperately need more support from Congress to address the pressing issues in our neighborhoods.
We are fighting for people who haven’t had a voice in decades, and our cause is more urgent than ever. It won’t be easy but we are not backing down from this fight. We’re taking on corporate forces determined to undermine our people-first movement.
The momentum is on our side — and we’re ready to win this fight. Join this fight with us by making a split contribution toward Kina and our recount fund so we have the funds to scale up our movement. Contribute today.
