Friend,
Any day now we expect the Supreme Court to issue a decision in AU’s case, Kennedy v. Bremerton School District. And because you’re part of the AU community, we want you to RSVP here to join us the day after for an exclusive, virtual Member Briefing to hear from our experts!
This landmark case, argued by AU’s own Legal Director Richard Katskee, is about a coach who violated the religious freedom of students by pressuring them to join his public prayers at the 50-yard line at public high school football games. We defended the school district, which did the right thing to protect its students when it stopped the coach from leading students in prayer.
Kennedy v. Bremerton Post-Decision Briefing
Date: The day after the decision is issued
Time: 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT
As soon as the decision comes down, our legal and policy teams will analyze the opinion and its impact on the separation of church and state. Then, on the day after the decision, we’ll host a virtual briefing for our members and supporters featuring an outstanding panel of AU’s experts. They’ll explain the decision and its implications, what it means for AU’s work going forward, and offer thoughts on what people can do in response. You’ll also be able to ask your questions about the decision.
Please sign up here to join us!
Forward Together,
Brian Silva
