June marks the beginning of Pride Month.

One of my first acts as Governor in 2019 was signing an executive directive to strengthen prohibitions against LGBTQ+ discrimination in state employment, contracting and provision of services. And last year, I joined lawmakers in Michigan calling on the Legislature to pass a bill expanding Michigan’s civil rights law to add sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

As a staunch ally to the LGBTQ+ community, I am proud to celebrate this Pride with you.
