This is Senator Sean Bowie and I want you to be the first to know: I’m endorsing my good friend AJ Kurdoglu for the State House in our community, the new Legislative District 12.

This district has been my home for almost thirty years, and I have had the honor of serving our community in the State Senate for the last six years. My heart is in the work of serving our community, and I know AJ’s heart is in it too. That’s why he’s my choice.

AJ is one of the hardest-working people I have ever met. As a first-generation American, he built his own small business right here in our community and has consistently fought for the values we all share. From supporting our local K-12 public schools, expanding protections for our LGBTQ community, to investing in our universities and community colleges.

And as someone who has knocked on thousands of doors in our community, AJ may just beat my record this year: he’s knocking on doors every day throughout LD12 sharing his story and working hard to become our next State Representative.

AJ is someone we can be proud of. It’s more important than ever that we have voices like his fighting for our shared values at the state capitol.

As I retire from the legislature this year, I’m looking to support leaders who will go to the state capitol to build coalitions, work to defeat bad legislation, and govern in a pragmatic way. After getting to know AJ over the last several years, I’m confident he will be that kind of leader.
