Today is the first day of Pride Month, and I'm proud to stand alongside LGBTQ+ advocates who are fighting every day for equitable treatment.

This year's Pride Month is particularly important: GOP state legislatures have introduced a record number of bills that attack LGBTQ+ people for just being who they are. And right here in Florida, Ron DeSantis and Marco Rubio have supported some truly repulsive and discriminatory laws.

This year alone, Florida passed the "Don't Say Gay" bill to erase and silence LGBTQ+ kids and teachers in the classroom – just as ultraconservative politicians are doing everything in their power to stop teachers, parents and doctors from supporting transgender youth.

That's why I'm working to pass the Equality Act, which would federally protect LGBTQ+ rights – so that one day, every American can love who they love and freely express their true identities without facing discrimination. And I'm asking 4 more supporters from xxxxxx to sign my petition by midnight tonight.

If you're with me, will you please kick off Pride Month by calling on the U.S. Senate to pass the Equality Act? The GOP is pulling out all the stops to block this bill, so we need all hands on deck to get it passed.
