Statement from Leora Levy on Connecticut’s New “Misinformation” Officer

GREENWICH, CT - It was reported this week that Connecticut has hired a $150,000 misinformation specialist to battle election “misinformation” ahead of the 2022 election. Leora Levy, Republican Candidate for U.S. Senate in Connecticut, released the following statement about this new position.

“Democrats are at it again, trying to force their agenda on voters and shut down conservative voices by claiming they’re combating ‘malicious foreign actors.’ Not only is this an egregious waste of taxpayer dollars here in Connecticut, but it follows the Biden Administration’s disastrous rollout of the federal Disinformation Governance Board,” said Levy. “Whether it’s attacking conservatives on social media, or trying to sweep the Hunter Biden laptop story in the New York Post under the rug before the 2020 election, free speech is under attack in this country by the woke-progressive left and the liberal media.”

The story also notes that the new position’s salary is “just less than double the average base salary of $74,000 in Connecticut,” and funding for the position was part of Governor Lamont’s mid-term budget.
