Dear John,

Today’s the day – we're kicking off a whole month of celebration, protest, and power. Pride Month commemorates the famous 1969 uprising at the Stonewall Inn, where trans activists like Marsha P. Johnson played a critical part. Our trans forebears fought against police violence, constant criminalization, and a hostile society in order to live authentically and joyfully. Today, we honor that spirit as we continue the fight for trans rights.

We’re commemorating that history by connecting and empowering trans people and our allies across the nation. Starting today, join Team NCTE for #GiveOUTDay and help us reach our goal to raise $30,000! 

While #GiveOUTDay, the only national day of giving for the LGBTQ community, is on June 30th, we are fundraising throughout the entire month of June. Will you help us reach our goal? 

You can start your own fundraising page and ask your friends, family, and colleagues to make a gift in support of trans rights + organizing. Then, invite them to make their own pages!  

We’re in a friendly competition with other LGBTQ organizations to see who can get the most donors. If we win, we’ll get a $10k grant from the Horizons Foundation! So every person you invite to help support trans rights gets us one step closer to the funding that makes our work possible.
