As our nation grieves the incomprehensible loss of young lives in Texas, questions continue to mount and the ugly reality of the political aftermath is barreling towards us. The finger pointing has begun in earnest, and as usual, rather than seeking solutions, law-abiding gun owners are in the sights of gun control politicians and the media. Not only are we being accused of having “blood on our hands” and responsible for the deaths of children, but our prayers for healing and comfort are jeered. GOC’s Executive Director was in Uvalde for the Gundies (a 2A awards ceremony) recently, and was able to spend time with many of the lovely people in that community. Their losses are beyond description and our hearts break for them.
