Friend, before our end-of-month fundraising deadline hits in just a few hours, I wanted to share a little about why I entered this crowded race.
I’m running for governor of Maryland because I know that state government is meant to be a force for good in people’s lives. Public institutions have the power to transform and literally save lives – and I know that because public schools saved me after both my parents passed away when I was a kid.
Things like quality public transportation, stronger public schools, a living wage, and better support and access to capital for small businesses would make such a meaningful difference in lifting up those across the state who need a boost and benefit everyone in the process. As governor, I will never back down from doing what it takes to deliver on the promise of progress Marylanders deserve, and I’m counting on a people-powered movement to help me do it.
With our May fundraising deadline just hours away, I’m reaching out one last time to humbly ask: will you please pitch in a couple bucks before midnight to ensure we have the resources to fuel this movement?
I know a more just, prosperous future is possible for our state, one built on economic, racial, climate, and educational justice. And honestly, we don’t have the time to wait.
As a former teacher, principal, and U.S. Secretary of Education, I know that when communities rally around a common cause like safer schools or environmental justice we see real, lasting change. I’m running to ensure that every community has equal opportunity, no matter their zip code. But I can’t make my vision for Maryland a reality without your support. So please, can you pitch in $100, $10, or just $1 to support our campaign today before tonight’s fundraising deadline?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately.
I’ve experienced firsthand the life changing impact public institutions can have. Now, I’m running for governor because all Marylanders deserve the same kind of support from our public institutions. Marylanders deserve a state leader who actually follows through and fights for them to have the support and resources they need not just to survive and get by, but to thrive and reach their full potential.
I know we can do what’s right for Maryland and build a more equitable future, but it’s going to take a massive grassroots effort fueled by supporters like you. If you’re with us, will you help fuel our campaign by contributing today?
I’m grateful for your support,
John King
