If you feel like May has left you feeling lost as we grapple with immense tragedies, you’re not alone. We now face the start of summer, and I hope that we can turn our grief into positive actions.

We are watching more Americans respond to the brutal murder of children by demanding that we take immediate action to pass commonsense gun safety measures, similar to those we passed in Virginia in 2020 and 2021. Millions have marched in support of our reproductive rights, especially the right to abortion. And we are seeing more parents speak up to protect our public schools and stop attempts to send public funds into the hands of private for-profit entities. 

Before we close the books on May, my team has informed me that we’re short our monthly goal of $2,378 which we need to hit before midnight TONIGHT. I know that’s a big goal, but I also know we can reach it.

If everyone reading this email donated $5 right now, we’d reach our goal within an hour!

As difficult as things may seem, there’s always a silver lining. As we close out May, I hope you will remember that we have strength in numbers. We know that the majority of Americans value public education, want to see commonsense gun safety, and support access to safe and legal abortion.
