Dear New Yorkers,

How would you rate your street’s cleanliness? Do you think you’re paying above average in property taxes compared to neighboring boroughs?

Join us for a virtual conversation on Tuesday, June 7th on Zoom at 7 PM to share your feedback on sanitation, property taxes, and other pressing issues.

In town halls across the city and from the nearly 3,000 people who’ve filled out our survey, we have heard loud and clear that New Yorkers are frustrated with sanitation services in their neighborhoods. From illegal dumping, to overflowing garbage bins, to a rise in rat sightings, it's clear that our city should be expanding, not cutting services. I was happy to see additions to Sanitation's budget, but the $48 million cut to the FY 2023 budget from the Preliminary Budget remains.

Getting the basics right, from trash to taxes, is essential for NYC’s recovery. We’ll be talking about the fight for better sanitation services, and about what it will take to reform our opaque and inequitable property tax system next Tuesday evening on Zoom. I'm thrilled to be partnering with New York City Council member Sandy Nurse who chairs the Committee on Sanitation and Solid Waste Management to host this forum for feedback. We hope you will join us for a lively discussion.
