John,
As May comes to a close, we celebrate and honor the powerful Asian American and Pacific Islander women who are leading and organizing for change in communities across Minnesota. All year round, they are prioritizing equitable policies that work for Minnesotans. Today and every day we recognize the Asian American and Pacific Islander women dedicating themselves to serving in their communities and the relentless leadership they bring to this work.
We are proud to have resolute leaders, running for office and Women Winning-endorsed, here in Minnesota.
Representative Kaohly Vang Her is a fierce advocate for equity and justice, leading legislation for mental health education, workforce training, college funds for babies, gun violence prevention, and women’s rights. She is a critical voice in the Minnesota Legislature.
In 2018, Representative Samantha Vang was first elected to the Minnesota House and has brought her experience as a community organizer to the legislature, fighting for education funding and support for high school students, lowering the cost of prescription drugs, and championing voting rights.
Susie Strom is a dedicated leader, committed to fighting for education, the environment, healthcare, and our communities. She is running for Minnesota House District 36A to represent the community with compassion and thoughtfulness.
Samantha Sencer-Mura is an educator, mother, and leader, dedicated to educational justice. She is running for Minnesota House District 63A to continue fighting for action on climate change, reproductive justice, public safety, and workers’ rights.
Liz Lee is a dedicated advocate, prioritizing working families through affordable housing, education equity, health equity, and access to public transit. She is running for Minnesota House District 67A, so that families have the tools and resources they need to thrive.
These women are just a few of the incredible Asian American and Pacific Islander leaders here in Minnesota. And we must continue to elect women who represent our communities. It is going to take each and every one of us.
Will you sign up today to volunteer with Women Winning this year, so we can elect leaders who are changing the face of power? [[link removed]] This election is not going to be easy, but it is a worthy fight.
Thank you for your commitment and ongoing support. We are proud to be united in this work with you.
