Our rights to breathe clean air and drink clean water are being eroded every single year.
A new study published in The Lancet Planetary Health has found that premature deaths from common pollution sources have risen by two-thirds globally since 2000.
90% of these deaths have occurred in rapidly developing low- and middle-income countries. One of the reasons for this is because in many of these areas, pollution mitigation standards have not been put in place or are not well enforced.
We don’t have to allow the trend of worsening pollution to continue. Another new study published in GeoHealth found that eliminating air pollutants generated by energy-related activities in the U.S. could prevent more than 50,000 premature deaths each year. Additionally, these measures could save the economy more than $600 billion each year in avoided health care costs.

Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 117th Congress while we undo the damage of the Trump Administration.
