Since 1987, Voices for Illinois Children has worked to improve the well-being of Illinois children across the state regardless of race, ethnicity, and zip code. We work to see that all children grow up safe, healthy, educated and on the path to a successful life.

Just a sample of our work this year includes:

  • Issuing our 2019 Illinois KIDS COUNT Report on families and communities that documents disparities that still exist for Illinois children and their families in household income, infant mortality, academic achievement and many other areas.

  • Continuing our early math program for young children and families with the distribution of nearly 1,000 math kits through seven family math events and door-to door contact in underserved neighborhoods along with making math kits available at six Chicago Public Library branches.

  • Completing a fiscal scan of state investments in programs addressing early childhood needs as part of the Risk and Reach Report undertaken by a number of early childhood advocates and funders.

Yet, the needs and challenges for children across the state remain. As a trusted, independent source for information and analysis, Voices has a crucial role to play.

On this Giving Tuesday, we ask you to please contribute to Voices for Illinois Children to help us continue the work of advocating for the necessary appropriations and policies to improve the lives of all Illinois children. Please go to our website www.voices4kids.org and make a contribution on Giving Tuesday – December 3, 2019.

Thank you.
