June is Pride Month, and AFSP is committed to supporting the mental health of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people.
We can all play a role in promoting the well-being of LGBTQ communities, and AFSP offers a variety of opportunities to get involved in this important work.
As a starting place, we encourage you to visit AFSP’s LGBTQ Resource Guide where you’ll find ways to help suicide prevention in LGBTQ communities, connect to culturally competent care and learn more about LGBTQ suicide research. You can also join AFSP in advocating for much-needed legislation protecting the rights of LGBTQ communities and in amplifying the voices of LGBTQ people who share their diverse stories.
Each action matters and we are stronger together. We hope you’ll join our efforts to support LGBTQ mental health in June and beyond.
