Dear John,
We’re glad whenever journalists cover the excesses of powerful figures. But this weekend’s stories about Paul Pelosi’s arrest in Napa ultimately demonstrate the sad collapse of journalism in this country.
To the extent there’s a story about Paul Pelosi that matters, it’s how his stock trades have benefited from Nancy’s inside information, how they have “informed” (and skewed) her positions as a leader in Congress.
The real story that remains overlooked is Nancy’s continuing refusal to debate anyone for the 35th year in a row, even while on a ballot for an election currently underway.
Can you join us to hold power accountable even when news media choose to chase clickbait instead?
Given the widespread refusal of press outlets to report on Nancy Pelosi’s record, or the alternative that our campaign offers, we were thrilled this week to see a thoughtful reporter respond to our public concern about how the Paul Pelosi story overlooked a more important one related to Nancy, her corruption, and how it reinforces institutional corruption.
Can you support our campaign today to help force our overlooked observations of bipartisan corruption into the public, where voters can hold it accountable?
Ultimately, to see this story run in the New York Post is a shame on the San Francisco press that continue to hide the truth from voters.
It’s not as if San Francisco media outlets haven’t heard from us. They’re just more interested in covering car burglaries than solutions to climate chaos and homelessness, and in smearing immigrants than in holding accountable powerful oligarchs.
Each day brings us closer to our win number, and some more than others. Can you help us pick up a few new voters by sharing this article with your friends? If they have concerns about the source, they might appreciate this preceding recent article in SF Gate from a few months ago.
As we close in on the end of the jungle primary on June 7, your support can make a crucial difference. San Francisco is united against the bipartisan corruption in Washington, yet largely unaware of the active complicity of our federal representation. Can you help us force the change we all need to protect the future?
We’re running against a powerful oligarch who refuses to defend her ideas, while relying on the press to construct a cult of personality insulating her. That’s why you sharing either of the articles above with your friends in San Francisco can make such a difference as we continue working around our obstacles.
Thank you for helping us force a long overdue reckoning! We’re ultimately all in this together, and I’m grateful for the chance to represent your voice.
Yours,
Shahid
