As Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month comes to a close, I want to tell you about my friend and colleague Rep. Andy Kim.
Andy Kim and I are the only two Korean American Democrats serving in Congress. And like me, he grew up in the same area he now represents in Congress.
Our families lived in South Jersey and the South Sound, respectively. In our hometown communities, we had access to a great education, economic opportunity, and a shot at the American dream.
