When you’re a Democrat in a battleground state, running for office is no easy feat.
When Michael started serving Colorado, folks called him the “accidental senator.” And he won his last midterm election race by just 1.7%.
The truth is, when you’re in the same party as the president, the cycle after the president is elected will always be a tough race. This year is no different.
People are struggling. They’re facing rising costs from inflation, the pandemic, and what seems like endless, senseless gun violence.
But we can tell you this: Nobody is more focused than Michael on delivering for his state.
Michael has delivered remarkable progress for Coloradans — from record investments in our nation’s infrastructure that will create good-paying jobs and fight climate change, to cutting taxes and lowering costs for working families — and not enough folks know about it.
And he is deeply disappointed that we didn’t fight harder to extend those monthly Child Tax Credit payments to working families across our country — a lifeline that allowed folks to pay their rent and keep food on the table for their families.
Michael might be up against the headwinds of history in this year’s midterms, but we can control our effort. He doesn’t accept a cent from corporate PACs or federal lobbyists, and with the National GOP breaking fundraising records month after month, we’re counting on the support of folks like you to help us win this race and keep Colorado blue.
