“My name is Ruben Gallego, and I am running for Congress to fight for working families because I know what they go through.”
That was how I kicked off one of the first ads of my first campaign for Congress.
I talked about being the son of a Mexican immigrant who slept on the floor until I went to college where I cleaned other people’s bathrooms to keep up on the bills.
I also talked about the kind of member of Congress I would be: pro-choice, an advocate for comprehensive immigration reform including a DREAM Act, someone who would work to strengthen our gun laws, protect Social Security and make college more affordable.
I won that race because of the support of so many people — old friends, and total strangers — who wanted a true progressive voice in Congress.
Now I am running for re-election, and I need your support again. Especially before midnight tonight:
Can you please use this link to make a contribution to my re-election campaign before our May fundraising drive comes to a close at midnight tonight?
