Friend,

Since the devastating violence in Uvalde, you’ve probably received dozens of fundraising requests. But, not from me.

Our team was focused on one thing: driving action in Harrisburg. In the last few days, Leader McClinton forced a vote on an assault weapons ban. And then, in 36 hours my team put together a massive rally with Governor Wolf and survivors demanding action. As one child said, “We are scared, frustrated, and exhausted. We want to live our lives, free of gun violence.”

We're fighting for her and every child.

Already the story is the gun extremists are digging in with their friends in Harrisburg to stop any action. This will only work if we can sustain, and even increase, the pressure. Usually after a mass shooting we see an outpouring of support and then it fades.

That can’t happen this time. So I’m asking: can you make sure we have the resources to sustain this pressure?

I wanted action before Uvalde and Buffalo. I wanted a plan to end illegal firearm trafficking before 1,000 Philadelphians were shot in two years. I wanted waiting period legislation to help reduce the crisis of gun suicide, which makes up two-thirds of Pennsylvania's gun violence each year. I wanted action before a one-year old in Pittsburgh lost their life on Saturday.

That didn’t happen. But we can honor those we've lost with action so there aren't more grieving parents and terrified children. You know what we do – now I need you to power it.

I look forward to the day when we gather in joyous celebration of a new life-saving law. And together, we’ll get there a little faster.

- Adam
