There’s no doubt that we have a lot at stake in 2022 — not just here in Georgia, but across the country. From a 50-50 split in the U.S. Senate to flippable state legislatures, this year has the potential to change the way our democracy is run.
Voters have the power to decide who will serve them. And elections have consequences — in 2020, we saw candidates running on platforms of trying to restrict access to the ballot and election denial, some of whom won their respective races. The impact of the choices some voters made then is evident now, as voters face needless obstacles to accessing the ballot box.
Across the country, promoters of Trump’s Big Lie and far-right conspiracy theorists are vying for positions from the top of the ticket all the way down the ballot. In states like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, the people who fought to overturn election results and suppress minority voters are now running for office themselves, looking to make decisions on election outcomes.
As we enter the next phase of the 2022 midterms, Fair Fight is laser-focused on protecting the right to vote and dismantling the systemic voter suppression that is rooted in our election processes. We’re working from the ground-up to rebuild our broken democracy and break down barriers to civic participation.
Elections should be rooted in integrity, security, and accessibility — but these ideals aren’t being embraced by the people in power. Together, if we all vote, we’ll make our voices heard and start to see real, positive change in our communities.
Chip in $20 right now if you can — before our end-of-month fundraising deadline at midnight — to support Fair Fight’s efforts to combat voter suppression and give all eligible voters the opportunity to cast their ballot as we gear up for the midterms.
Thank you for everything,
The Fair Fight Team
