A Weak Economy Could Have Consequences For Democrats. Will Voters Want Change? - The latest data from the Department of Commerce shows gross domestic product (GDP) contracted in the first quarter even more than originally estimated, falling 1.5%, the first downturn since the pandemic’s onset. Just as economic growth has turned on its heels and headed backwards, so too has the White House’s messaging on the economy notably shifted. Heritage Experts: EJ Antoni and Joel Griffith

Biden’s Executive Order on Policing Misses Mark - As important as what’s contained in the executive order is what’s not contained in it: It makes no provision to put more cops on the street today. It makes no provision to put more cops on the street in the long run. And it makes no provisions to encourage federal and state prosecutors to increase their prosecutions of violent crimes, drug trafficking, or other crimes that cripple the public’s sense of safety and security. If the Biden administration was serious about protecting minority members of communities around the country, these are the steps it would be taking. Sadly, once again, the Biden administration has made playing politics its priority instead of meaningfully addressing the problems facing police and the public safety of the communities they serve. China, Russia Again Block UN Action on North Korea - The United States will find a willing partner in newly inaugurated South Korea President Yoon Suk Yeol, who has vowed to pursue a tougher policy against North Korea than his predecessor, Moon Jae-in. Yoon can be expected to support sanctions enforcement more strongly, condition any benefits to North Korea on progress toward denuclearization, and place greater emphasis on strengthening the alliance with the U.S. The U.S. has recently sanctioned small tranches of North Korea entities, but continues to refrain from actions against Chinese banks and businesses. Washington should move against all entities for which it has evidence of malfeasance. The U.S. could impose billion-dollar fines on Chinese banks, as it did against European banks for money laundering for Iran, declare them as primary money laundering concerns, and freeze assets. The Justices Didn’t Lie About Roe v. Wade – and Democrats Know It  - Within hours of the publication of the leaked first-draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization … Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) issued a statement accusing “Republican-appointed Justices” of having “lied to the U.S. Senate.” Two days later, Schumer identified the “lie” as “misrepresenting their views” during their confirmation hearings “on respecting precedent when it came to decisions like Roe.” There is definitely some serious misrepresentation going on about what was said in those hearings about Roe and Casey, but it’s not coming from the Justices.  President Biden’s “Equity Action Plans” Reveal Radical, Divisive Agenda - Race-based policies are anathema to the ideals of the United States, and the nation made them illegal in 1964 with the Civil Rights Act, signed by President Lyndon Johnson. The act finally put into operation the 14th Amendment’s promise of “equal protection of the laws,” which was adopted in 1868. The Biden Administration’s Equity Action Plans trample on these ideals and laws, and Congress must stop them from being implemented.
