Nottingham has been named in the top 20 local authorities for electric vehicle charging. Here in Nottingham, we have 186 public charging devices with a total of 53 rapid charging devices. That?s 55.2 charging devices per 100,000!
We work in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council, Derbyshire County Council and Derby City Council where we have created the D2N2 network. Over 400 charging points have been installed across the region.
Since 2018, our charge point network has been funded by the Transforming Cities fund, Go Ultra Low and On-Street Residential Charging. BP Pulse have helped us install and maintain the charge point infrastructure on behalf of the four councils.?

We have just taken delivery of a further six fully electric refuse collection vehicles (eRCVs), bringing our total to eight. Each of these vehicles saves 27 tonnes CO2 and ?18,000 per year compared to their diesel counterparts as well as being a better working environment for our drivers and loaders.
A further 12 orders have been placed for eRCVs which will take our total up to 20 buy the end of the year. Along with this, seven electric sweepers have also been ordered too.
With these additions, our fleet will be up to 235 electric vehicles which is 49.5% of the fleet! We are currently over 50% for ULEV vehicles. This shows we are well on our way to reach 100% electric by 2028.
