Social Security is a great deal for America!

Dear John,

Since 1982, the National Committee has proven again and again that when we work together, speak out and fight hard to protect and strengthen Social Security benefits, we can win.

But I’ll be honest with you. During this critical election year, a high-level agenda to undercut our government’s long-term commitment to Social Security is gaining momentum behind closed doors in Washington.

The plain truth is, Social Security is a great deal for our great country and it’s our most successful government program. For nearly 87 years, Social Security has provided retired workers, people with disabilities and surviving spouses and children with guaranteed income — plus increases for inflation added later.

But some politicians continue to target Social Security and other programs relied on by millions of Americans and their families with deep cuts — and use lies and distortions in order to end these programs as we know them. We all should be skeptical of leaders who suggest the only way to “save” Social Security for future generations is to gut it.

So the big question for you is, when more proposals start coming in to “tweak” Social Security … and as Congress starts deliberating and casting votes that could impact your earned benefits —

Where will you be, John?

Sitting on the sidelines, hoping for the best? Or will you be on the front lines of the debate with me and your fellow National Committee members pushing Congress to pass the “Social Security 2100: A Sacred Trust Act” to strengthen Social Security and ensure current and future retirees receive the benefits they’ve paid into and earned during their long working lives.

With so much at stake, I really hope we can count on you to stay informed, get involved and make a difference in the fight to protect and strengthen Social Security for current and future beneficiaries!

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
President & CEO
