John,
Just wanted to reach out to wish you a peaceful, restful, and reflective Memorial Day. Today, we pause to honor the hundreds of thousands of Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our nation and allow the American experiment to continue.
I am a third-generation military veteran. My grandfather and father served in the Navy, and my brother was an Army medic. Many of my cousins have served as well. Today is an important day for us.
Whenever I visit my grandparents’ grave in Arlington National Cemetery, I leave a quarter behind. It’s a family tradition. When I visited our fallen Pennsylvanian soldiers and sailors in Normandy on the 75th commemoration, I was able to do the same. Today, I am able to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice at the Philadelphia National Cemetery.
Again, from my family to yours, have a peaceful Memorial Day.
Chrissy
