I wanted to take a moment this Memorial Day to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Memorial Day is an important reminder that our democratic way of life isn’t guaranteed. It’s secured by service members who put our country before themselves.

Our community has sent countless heroes into harm’s way, many of whom never returned home. There is nothing we can do to repay them, but on this Memorial Day, we must acknowledge and remember their sacrifices. We can honor them by doing our best to live up to their selfless example.

On this day and every day, I want to say thank you, our country is so grateful for your service.
