Patriot,

It’s easy to get caught up in the summertime break of Memorial Day and forget about the true meaning behind this solemn day.

Through strife and struggle, over 1.2 million American service men and women have given their lives for our nation.

Each one of those people has a story, and in most cases, those stories are nightmares.

From our Patriot Militia fighting the British in the swamps of South Carolina, to Marines battling the Japanese in Guadalcanal, our fighting forces have seen the worst of humanity.

Today, we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

On Saturday, I was in Daytona Beach, Florida, honoring our nation's Vietnam Veterans, and today, I am at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, which is located in my Congressional District, paying my respects to our nation’s fallen and their families. This is the very least we can do to show our gratitude as Americans on Memorial Day.

Honoring those who gave their lives for our nation and our freedom has to become common practice each day. And the best way to do that is by working together to preserve our Republic, and our Liberty.

Please never forget our obligation to our heroes, and to our nation. Thanks so much.
