Our nation has been through a lot recently, and, while I hope you are able to enjoy time off and spend this day with family and loved ones, I also hope you take a moment to pause and reflect on those that are no longer with us and honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms.
Our country is what it is today because of those who gave everything to protect our freedoms. Today, we pay tribute to those who lost their lives in service to our country and acknowledge the shared sacrifice of their families. In Washington, I am committed to fighting for our servicemembers and veterans to ensure they receive the benefits they deserve, and ask you to stand with me in honoring the brave men and women we have lost in service to our country today.
Thank you for taking a moment to reflect today on our freedoms, thank those who help protect them every day, and remember those who sacrificed their lives to do so.
