Today, Tuesday July 23, APWU members are calling Congress in support of the USPS Fairness Act. Will you make a call by dialing 844-402-1001?

Why do we need the USPS Fairness Act? Because in 2006, Congress passed the PAEA – a law that forces the service to pre-fund retiree health care benefits 75 years into the future. That burdensome mandate is pulling money out of the Postal Service, which has caused job and service cuts across the USPS.

It is also the excuse given by those government officials who want to get rid of our right to negotiate our wages and benefits in a union contract, and want to sell-off the USPS to private corporations.

The USPS Fairness Act, H.R. 2382, will end this unfair mandate.

I know you believe the US Postal Service should be a place that continues to provide good jobs and good service. I am asking you to take only a few minutes and make a call this afternoon.
