Hi John,

This Memorial Day, in the midst of the attacks on Ukraine, I hope you will take time to remember all of servicemembers who answered the call to serve and paid the ultimate price. They sacrificed everything to strengthen and protect our democracy.

When times are hardest, we see the very best of what it means to be an American. We see endurance and generosity and bravery – we see people come together to lift one another up.

Time and time again, we've seen that spirit in so many of our fellow Americans. But we especially see those values in our servicemembers who have given everything for our freedoms.

In a time where conflict becomes unpredictable, our brave men and women who serve are always ready. They are our family, friends, and community members.

We see and honor those we have lost today, tomorrow, and every single day. Because of them, we are a stronger nation.

I hope you have a peaceful Memorial Day, John.
