Today is Memorial Day, an opportunity to remember and honor America’s fallen heroes.

As we spend time with family and friends today, let’s remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice so our nation can be safe and free. We owe them a debt that can never be repaid.

On this and every day, I am eternally grateful to those who have put their lives on the line to defend our country. I am honored to serve in the Iowa State Senate and work every day to protect the values of freedom and democracy that our fallen soldiers sacrificed to defend.

I hope you and your loved ones have a meaningful Memorial Day.
