Hi Friend --
It’s finally happening- the first
Meeting of States Parties to the UN Ban Treaty is right around the
corner. But that’s not all. A whole week of events are being prepared
for Nuclear Ban Week, Vienna. Are you registered
yet?
We're incredibly excited to kick off
the week with a powerful two-day civil society forum that is open to
everyone (including online participants for those of you who cannot
make it in person). Early Bird Tickets for the Nuclear Ban
Forum are available here until 1 June
2022.
Here’s what we’re planning:
With more than 50
sessions over two days, the Nuclear Ban Forum is the place to connect
with others concerned about nuclear weapons, nuclear war and building
the movement to resist them. Speakers from around the
globe include such inspirational leaders as:
- Amanda Nguyen from Rise,
- Phil Twyford, the Minister for Disarmament from Aotearoa/
New Zealand,
- Pedro Alonzo and Pedro Reyes, the artistic architects behind
the incredible Amnesia Atomica exhibition (which just closed on Times
Square)
- Dr. Jonas Jaegermeyr and Nyombi Morris, who will give you
the latest information on nuclear weapon’s impact on and connections
to the changing climate,
- And, because nuclear weapons have a human cost, the forum
will hear from impacted communities from the Kazakh Steppe to the
Pacific Islands in several sessions spread over the two days.
Not only that, but there will be
practical workshops as well as art, music, and an innovative VR
experience to try. Explore the programme here. Also,
on a more practical note, if you would love to come but
would need to find a solution to take care of your kids, child-care
will be available on site.

This is the first time we’ve had a
chance to bring people together to talk about nuclear weapons, to meet
those who have been directly impacted, and to demand a difference in
years. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to be at this monumental
event, where we are planning the end of nuclear weapons. We hope you
will be there.
Get your tickets now, and we’ll see
you soon,
