Today is Memorial Day, an opportunity to remember and honor those who've courageously laid their lives on the line in serving our country.

I am dedicated to honoring our service members and their families. We must never forget the sacrifice fallen soldiers made so that we can live freely.

These fallen soldiers fought to uphold and defend our Constitution and to safeguard the principles of freedom, the rule of law and equal protection thereunder, democracy, and justice for all.

As we honor their lives, it is important to reflect upon the principles they so courageously defended. These principles serve as a reminder to us all of the unity of purpose we share as Americans and the profound meaning that lies in every instance we lose a service member on the battlefield.

Friends, please join me in offering the deepest of all gratitude to our brave servicemembers and their families.
