Dear John,
On this Memorial Day, I am reflecting on our world and the loved ones whom we have lost.
As I write this message, our brothers and sisters in Ukraine have crossed the three-month mark fighting for their lives. Three months of fighting to protect their communities — and their democracy — from hateful, violent attacks.
Here at home, hundreds of thousands of families are profoundly touched by grief and the repercussions of violence. We mourn alongside the communities of the brave people who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, and loved ones who have been lost to senseless violence.
Today and every day, we honor our nation’s grieving families by working toward peace.
My whole heart and deepest sympathies are with all who are remembering loved ones today. We will forever share in your grief.
Together,
