Memorial Day, by its very nature, prompts us to reflect on the past. This is the weekend that our nation collectively remembers, thanks, and mourns those who paid the ultimate cost for us to live in freedom.

These brave men and women are the epitome of COUNTRY FIRST -- they gave their last breath in defense of our nation and constitution. Their sacrifice was not for a political party or president, but for all of us. And it is up to the living to make our nation worthy of that gift every day.

With enduring gratitude for the glorious men and women we honor this weekend, I hope we all will seize the opportunity to take a break from the bad news, unplug from toxicity, enjoy the ones we love, and thank God for America and her heroes.
