Today, on this Memorial Day, we remember and honor those selfless Americans who first braved the horrors of war and then made the ultimate sacrifice in hope of a better world and a more perfect union.

We remember their families and friends, who stood strong in support as their loved ones put their lives on the line to defend our democratic republic and preserve our Constitution.

We remember that what will always make America great are the selfless Americans who forget themselves in the service of others.

And may we always remember the great Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice as well as their purpose for doing so.
