There are two competing visions of America, John – I call them the “DeSantis Vision” and the “Holder Vision.”

The “DeSantis Vision” looks more like an autocracy. A lot of folks can’t vote – especially if you’re a person of color or disabled. If your community tends to vote Democratic, your vote counts for less than the votes of Republicans. First Amendment protest is criminalized. So is abortion and even the discussion of LGBTQ issues in schools.

DeSantis is trying to make some of that happen in Florida, and the entire country could be next. And even though DeSantis’s map was blocked by a court at first, it’s now back in effect. But there’s hope – people are fighting back.

Now let’s talk about the “Holder Vision” for America. Every eligible voter can cast a ballot and most importantly, everyone's vote counts equally because gerrymandering is a thing of the past. As a result, politicians are actually responsive to the people – which means we can enact the progressive policies Americans support and say they want, like access to reproductive health care, gun violence prevention, climate action, and much more.

I know it may seem like the authoritarians are winning, but I want you to think about everything we've achieved together , including a congressional map for the 2022 midterm elections that many experts say is more fair than we've had in a generation. With your support, I know we can keep going and make the Holder Vision for America a reality.

Will you help us hit our end-of-month goal to make it happen?
