Take Action to Support Heart Health After Pregnancy

Legislation is moving in Congress that would expand access to health
coverage for women after pregnancy - a time when many are at
risk for life-threatening heart conditions. The Helping MOMS Act (H.R.
4996) provides for a state option under Medicaid to extend coverage
for women postpartum for up to twelve months. Tell Congress to pass
this legislation now!

Congress Addresses Affordable Health Care

Over the past year, Congress has debated several policies to make
health care more affordable. Numerous bills have been introduced that
would reduce patients' costs and address roadblocks to getting
the care providers prescribe. Read more about policies to address
surprise billing, Medicare Part D out-of-pocket costs, preventive care
for chronic conditions and streamlining prior authorization.

November is National Family Caregivers Month

Women living with heart disease often receive care from a family
caregiver when they are recovering from surgery, receiving treatment
after a diagnosis, dealing with chronic needs or aging. At the same
time, many women living with heart disease serve as family caregivers
for others in their lives with acute or long-term care needs. Read
more about the impact of caregiving on heart health.
