Dear Friend,

BREAKING: Postmaster General Louis DeJoy just announced plans to close
dozens of mail processing centers across the country.(1)

DeJoy is going to slow the mail and put thousands of people out of work
just as he also plans to raise stamp prices at -- in his words -- “an
uncomfortable rate.” His plan will hurt people in poverty and push more
customers to competing services, which he just happens to be invested
in.(2)

We must stop DeJoy before his plans go into action. President Biden’s
nominees to the USPS Board of Governors have been confirmed, and they are
currently reviewing DeJoy’s schemes, and we need to convince the Board to
not only shut down his efforts to destroy the post office, but also kick
him to the curb.

Louis DeJoy?

Despite the fact that Congress passed the Postal Service Reform Act and
gave the USPS some much needed funding, DeJoy is still intent on following
through with facility closures and price raises.

Just recently, DeJoy ordered 40,000 gas-guzzling vehicles against the
express wishes of the EPA and the American public, who want the agency to
utilize electric vehicles. DeJoy is refusing to release documents related
to the purchase, so we have no idea what the postmaster general’s
relationship with the contracting company is.(3)

DeJoy already has a history of underhanded dealings and corruption, and
the Board of Governors has the power to rein him in. We must ensure that
they act.

Courage California is rallying grassroots pressure to convince the USPS
Board of Governors to fire Louis DeJoy and return the post office to the
public service it is meant to be. Will you chip in to help stop DeJoy?
