I don't usually give much oxygen to what the GOP says about our race. But this statement warranted a response, because it really highlights how out of touch the Republicans are in our district.

After the Cook Political Report downgraded CA-49 to "Lean Democratic'' last week, the Republicans’ DC communications team took a victory lap. They went so far as to say that Mike is as good as "doomed."

This year's race will be tough, there's no denying that. But few folks know better than the GOP that we've won tough races before. They know because they were in the trenches against us, and in both instances we came out on top. 😁

National Republicans think they can parachute in with big bucks on TV attacks to win an election. Meanwhile, Mike is running a locally-grown, grassroots campaign that's powered by thousands of individuals and a result-oriented focus in Washington.

And don't tell the GOP this, but that's even earned him some Republican support in the district too (who would have thought? 🤷🏻).
