John -- you know the Republican plan to stack state courts the way they stacked the U.S. Supreme Court (with conservative justices who they will rely on to rubber stamp their right-wing agenda)? Well, it's official: We're not going to let them do it.

Here's what NDRC President Kelly Burton told The Washington Post:

“We are already seeing Republicans attempt to rig the judicial system against fairness, particularly in states like Ohio, North Carolina, and Michigan, and we will fight back against these attempts to threaten the independence of state courts.”

A. Thirty-two states will be electing judges to their highest courts this fall.

B. NBC News reported that the GOP is “eye[ing] state courts as [the] next political battlegrounds” and Reuters adds that Republicans are planning to “spend record amounts.”

C. If we don't work to defend balanced and independent state courts, Republicans will stack them with judges who they expect to do their bidding -- on redistricting, voting rights, abortion rights, and more!
