A record number of children are now being treated for mental health
problems on the NHS, according to figures.
Latest NHS figures reveal 420,000 under-18s were either undergoing
treatment or waiting to start in February.

Appeal for mourners to attend
Yorkshire funeral of 'humble’ veteran

An appeal has been made for mourners to attend the funeral of a war
veteran who has passed away with no known family or friends.
Maurice Winspear, 98, served in the Royal Scots Fusiliers and spent
four years deployed on active service on the front line in Italy
during the Second World War as well as tours in Syria, Palestine and
Egypt.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday May 31 at 2pm at Kirkleatham
Crematorium, in Redcar, Yearby.

More than 2,600 Channel migrants
arrived in May
Official figures released by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) reveals
that 2,637 illegal migrants have reached English soil in 87 boats so
far this month.
While bad weather out at sea saw a temporary break in crossings
between May 9 and May 14, migrant numbers are on the rise again as the
Spring months bring calmer skies and waters.
