Kina witnessed a shooting in front of her home on the West Side of Chicago when she was a child. As a survivor, organizer and activist, she has fought her whole life to stop the gun violence in her community and across the country. She led the largest gun violence prevention organization in Illinois.
Kina will be a progressive champion for the people of IL-07. Like myself, Kina has been endorsed by Justice Democrats and Sunrise Movement.
Showing up for her community is who Kina is. Whether it was the fight to oppose Rahm Emanuel accountable or standing with organizers, union workers, and gun violence survivors every week. Kina will always choose to stand with her community.
