John,

We’re nearly two thirds of the way through our final FEC fundraising quarter of the year. The not so great news is that, as of this morning, we’re $18,107 behind where we were at this point in the quarter in 2018. But we have good news too:

We can make up the difference as long as a lot of people give just a little bit at a time (even $3 makes a difference). If just a fraction of the people reading this gave a few dollars, we’ll be in a great position to replicate or even surpass our 2018 victories next year (maybe the most important election cycle of our lifetimes).

Will you make a $3 contribution today (or give our average amount of $12.40) and help us get back on track to hit our fundraising goal this year? The resources we raise now will go a long way toward building the infrastructure needed to elect working class champions in 2020.

What makes the Working Families Party unique is that we don't work within the traditional political establishment. And that means we have the ability to challenge Republicans and corporate Democrats head-on.

Sometimes those challenges can have real-world consequences, like earlier this month when our NJ State Director Sue Altman was violently dragged out of a hearing room for speaking truth to power against corrupt Democratic machine boss George Norcross.

Or earlier this week, when a commission created by NY Governor Cuomo pushed through some of the most restrictive ballot access laws in the nation, all to try and take revenge against the WFP for our success.

We do this work and take these risks because we believe that working people need a voice at the table. That’s why we work to elect progressives, underdogs, and those who stand in opposition to machine politics. But in order to maintain that type of independence:

  • We don’t rely on dark money PACs to fill up our coffers.
  • We don’t have any fatcat CEOs raking in million-dollar salaries.
  • We don’t take donations from corporations who are polluting our planet or profiting off the sick and needy.
  • We’re scrappy. We’re not here to collect paychecks and call it a day. We’re committed to fighting for and winning real transformational change.

Your grassroots contributions help fund the work of talented organizers in over a dozen states around the country, recruit new members for our state and local chapters, and drive voter turnout for the hundreds of down-ballot races we get involved in. When we say these fundraising goals and deadlines are important to us, we mean it.

Can you make a contribution today and help the Working Families Party elect hundreds of fearless progressives in 2020? Most people give our average amount of $12.40.

There is so much at stake in the 2020 election cycle, John. It’s not just about defeating Trump, though. It’s about ensuring that the people who defeat him are the kinds of leaders ready and able to pass a Green New Deal, Medicare for All, transform our criminal justice system, and more. Together, we can do it.

In solidarity,

The Working Families Party
