Make no mistake, John: The gun violence tragedies that have caused so much pain and suffering in recent decades were largely preventable.
The NRA and the gun lobby at large have fought at every opportunity to block meaningful progress on sensible gun safety reform.
Right here in Hammond, Indiana, in 2013, the NRA came after us for our ordinance restricting guns from city buildings or at any city board or commission meeting.
The NRA was lock, stock and barrel behind a lawsuit challenging our local regulations and tried to bully the city of Hammond. But the Indiana Court of Appeals ruled in our favor. I wouldn’t stand for their bullying then, and I won’t stand for it in the U.S. Senate.
Meanwhile, Todd Young is happy to be bought by the NRA — he’s received almost $3 million in donations from the NRA, and counting.
If you’d rather have a champion for gun safety who’s not afraid to stand up to the gun lobby — instead of a candidate whose campaign was partially bankrolled by the NRA — please chip in to my campaign before the end of the month:

Unlike Todd Young, I can’t be bought by the NRA at any price. I promise I will always fight against — not work on behalf of — the NRA and other special interests. I’ll represent YOU. Thank you for your support.
