When I talk with folks around the district we spend a lot of time discussing the issues that don’t always make the news or get the attention they deserve.

But these upcoming elections will have a dramatic impact on pretty much every issue you can imagine -- from the future of Medicare and Medicaid to whether or not Social Security and the Affordable Care Act are there for future generations.

If you, like me, believe we need to protect Medicare and Medicaid from GOP plans to gut these life-saving programs, then I need you to pitch in tonight.

If you believe health care is a right and that insurers shouldn’t be allowed to discriminate against Americans with pre-existing conditions, then I need you to donate.

If you trust climate scientists and believe their warnings about the catastrophic consequences of inaction, then I need you to donate.

If you believe we should defend Social Security, the Environmental Protection Agency, and funding for the Violence Against Women Act, then I need you to donate.

If Republicans take back the House, their agenda will be the opposite of everything I just outlined above. Which is why National Republican groups are targeting my seat and successfully recruited my extremist right-wing challenger.

With my end-of-month deadline tomorrow, I need your help to raise $8,823 before then so we can hit this goal in time. I know we’ve sent you a few emails over the past few days, but your help is crucial.
